I hope everyone is enjoying the weather there. The days have gotten really cold recently! We are all going through our closets and pulling out our winter gear!
Things seem to be slowing down but not for this weekend! General Conference is soon here! I cannot wait but am very scared, just that I don't know what to expect! I have heard so many great stories from the sisters about all the people they meet and so on! Everyone is going crazy buying outfits and planning every detail. I just hope I look decent! LOL
So we are struggling on keeping the people we were recently teaching. They just aren't interested but the good news is that we have been finding some golden people on chat and have gotten some referrals this week and will be getting tons this weekend at Conference! We only get to go to one session but on Temple Square they have it playing on speakers inside and outside of the buildings so we will get to hear a lot of it, of course when we aren't talking to people!
So I think everyone knows that my new companion is from Mexico just like my trainer.... so I guess I am supposed to learn Spanish. I wish I paid more attention in the 2 years I had in high school. I can understand a lot of things when they talk slow but I cannot speak it to save my life! But it has been a blast serving with Sister Lopez! She is such a hard worker, very caring and has a strong testimony of the Gospel and the work! She is a wonderful example to me!
I really am growing a love for the scriptures! They are the best tool that we have as well as prayer! I have learned so much in my 3rd transfer (about 2 weeks) about not wishing and pretending to be the perfect missionary. There is no such thing! God called Abby on a mission not someone else! It has been a great help just learning and serving with other sisters! The BEST mission EVER!!!!!
Well yesterday! The mission has been having a deep cleaning! My companion and I were cleaning our apartment all day yesterday! It is super clean and looks good! The sisters going outbound and going home have been leaving lots of things behind so we were asked to get rid of everything that wasn't ours and clean like a crazy person! We found lots of treasures! Great bonding moment for me and the companion! So fun!
So I go on exchanges with Sister Worthen (she was my district leaders comp last transfer) Mon-Friday for 2 hours and she is wanting to pass off in driving, so she has been practicing! We drove to the airport and back and it was so nice to see the city and the mountains just everything! I definitely took driving/traveling for granted now that we are always in one place every day! But I am beginning to love the mountains! It is so amazing here! The nice thing is that after my mission I can visit a lot since I will be in Idaho!
I hope this makes up for last week! I love you all! Thank you for the love, prayers and support!
Love,
Sister Tuckett
Called to Serve!
We got some birthday pictures from last week!
She has finally learned how to upload her own pictures!!!
I found these napkins and thought they were appropriate for what she is teaching!
I wonder if she feels short between these 2 sisters!
Now for the silly ones!
Looks like she had a fun 22nd birthday!
