The Temple Square Mission!
July 2015
Good afternoon everyone! This past week went by so quickly!
I heard some news from Emmett ID! William B. (who has been investigating the church for the past 2 years) has a baptismal date for August 15!! I am so happy! His wife Michelle, is less active but has always wanted to get sealed in the temple! They have 3 boys and they are super cute! I miss them! But anyways, Sister Pritchard said that they all went to church together for the first time since she has been there. When I was there half of them would come when they did end up coming. God is aware of all of his children. It just takes some time for us to understand what he wants for us. I am so excited for that beautiful family!!
Sister Nevil and I had the opportunity to watch 17 Miracles this past week, I cried like a baby of course. And it was even more sensitive since we serve and live where they sacrificed everything to come here. To build a temple, to live their faith without persecution, to do the will of God! Sunday, the talks were focused on how we can be modern pioneers to leave a legacy and be an example for those that come after us! They did so much for us, spending 40 years building the Salt Lake temple so that we could have those blessings.
It was Sister Nevil's 20th Birthday on Pioneer Day! We went out to eat with a member and her mother (Sister Nevil's mother) threw her a surprise party. We did not expect anything! And we also had the opportunity to take them around on a tour. We both announced this past Sunday! I spoke in English and Sister Nevil translated in ASL. It was fun! I also ran into some friends from back home!
This past week I have been studying more about faith in Jesus Christ! I love Alma 32 and Ether 12! They both talk about faith and with it you can accomplish anything with the Lord's help! All you need is a particle of faith and with it you experiment and allow the Lord to help you strengthen it as you act and follow his commandments. As humans we seem to make things harder than need be! Geez, that is something that I have recognized since I have been out! Humility is the key to happiness!
I hope you are having a wonderful week! Remember life is short, it can be challenging but those challenges are what prepares us to live with God again! Have faith and act, enjoy the journey!
Love you!
