Sister Tuckett is in Emmett, Idaho!!!

With her new companion, Sister Duncan, and Sister and President Cannon

Sister Duncan and Sister Tuckett!

It was like pulling teeth to get anything out of her today!!!  She didn't even send me a letter for the blog!  So, I am going to piece together the FEW things I did get out of her!

Sister Tuckett traveled to Idaho with 2 other sisters.. one was Sister N. who was one of her MTC companions!  Their plane had a leak so they were delayed in getting to Idaho.  (glad I didn't know that before!)

Sister Tuckett went to Emmett.
Sister N. went to Middleton (which is in Sis. T's zone so they will still get to see each other every so often!
Sister I. went to Nampa.

If you would like her address please email me.
sdtuckett22@sbcglobal.net

I am sure she would love to hear from you!

"There are 3 sister and 3 Elder Companionships! So 12 missionaries in my district that cover Emmett."

"We cover 2 wards ~ East Valley and South Slope! Crazy but we are trying to get the members more involved in the work."

"Albertson's is so expensive!"

"We have our own car!"

"Sister D. is from Alaska."

"We have raked yards and things like that."

They do their emailing from the family history library at the church.  Sounded like ALL 12 of them were there.. she said she couldn't focus very well because the Elders kept talking!  :-)

She and Sister Duncan had to go to Nampa today for a dr. appointment for Sis. D.

After emails they were going to go do something fun as a district.

The members are feeding them every night!  I bet she will love having home cooked meals!

She was needing ideas because she and Sis. D. are suppose to teach the Family Home Evening lesson tonight at the family they are having dinner with.

Well,, that is it!  I have scoured her SHORT emails to see if I could find anything else... nope!

Here is a little information about Emmett, Idaho if you are interested.
Population is about 6,500-7,000.
There are 5 wards in Emmett!!! 4 family wards and one young adult ward.

Her SECOND Mission Call!
 Hello!

Well this week has been fun, just trying to get things ready for the next adventure of the mission... Heading to my outbound.... Nampa Idaho! I am headed back home to Idaho (she lived in Rexburg, Idaho for 2 years going to college)  but now I will be experiencing a new part! The West! So this mission covers some of Idaho but mostly Oregon!

Sister Ennis and I have been trying to pack and clean but it just seems that we just cannot figure out what we want to take! Sister Ennis will be serving her outbound in the Reno Nevada Mission! We have 2 investigators that live in that mission so she could end up serving by them!

I have learned so much here that going to serve in family wards might be a bit scary due to the fact that I haven't been in one for 7 months! But this experience will be life changing also!

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and since I have been serving I have seen how much God loves his children and that he has a plan of happiness prepared and waiting for us to help our brothers and sisters find it! I am excited for this new year, to continue to help others apply the Atonement in their lives and be changed!

I love you all!!!

Sister Tuckett

"Debbie got baptized last Saturday  (January 10th) and she came to the square on Tuesday. So the zone has 17 baptisms and 12 of them are from my district!!"

Sister Tuckett has been having some discomfort in her chest since before Christmas.  She went to a dr. today, her heart is fine.. said that it is leftover from a virus or something.  Glad we know before she went outbound!

HERE IS HER TEMPORARY ADDRESS:

SISTER TUCKETT IS GOING OUTBOUND!!!!!!

Sister Tuckett will be serving in the Idaho Nampa Mission
January 21st through April 15th.

It goes from the west and north of the Boise area, south to the Nevada state line,
up to the Washington state line, and the east side of Oregon.
It will be fun to hear where she gets to serve in that mission!

I finally got that letter she promised me a couple weeks ago!

......
The Square is pretty dead at night now but the last week has been crazy with WEDDINGS!  They are trying to get them in before school starts again.

So the past two weeks have been really hard at finding people to teach.  We have gone through our area book and have called and emailed so many people. We called and some of them answered and we set appointments but they end up not answering when we call or they aren't keeping commitments. So our focus for the rest of the transfer will be to find those that are prepared to hear the Gospel.

So my best friend is now the Book of Mormon (of course excluding my #1's - God and Jesus Christ).  I learn so much.  How everyone can find hope, peace, love, joy, happiness, and answers to questions from that amazing book.

THIS MISSION IS THE BEST!

So we had an interesting experience the other day!  Our roommates called us telling us that the light in the kitchen was on and the latch on the door was on.  How did that happen??  We turned off the lights and I don't know how that happened but ALL of us started freaking out like someone broke into our apartment!  The other sisters called maintenance to help them get inside.  So, when Sister Ennis came home the door was unlocked and there were foot prints by the living room and the windows were unlocked.  So you know me, I began freaking out.  We told our roommates and they began too.  One sister called the maintenance man who came and he said it was him.  LOL.  So, we were able to sleep well at night.  So, just a fun story!

Love you!
Sister Tuckett

Hey There!

So we have had some interesting experiences this week!

So D_____, she is the one who had been wanting to get baptized but would not stop drinking coffee. We talked with her this week and her date is set for this Saturday ~ Jan 10! Well she had her interview last night and she is getting baptized! The Elders told her that she can (can't ??) due to the coffee thing. The coffee is a prescription for her Diabetes. We asked President today and he said that it is fine but to help her find another solution. Anyway, we will have a baptism to end off this great transfer!!

We have another man that we are teaching and his name is T____ and he has the same thing as D_____. He loves the church and the teachings but doesn't seem to give up one thing! His is smoking and he has a mental illness and the Dr. said that using a vapor cigarette will help ~ so it helps but not harmful... I don't know about something like that. LOL He just kept justifying why he needs it.  Anyway, we both became sad and I felt like I should talk about the Savior. In a nutshell ~ I said that the Savior suffered and went through things that He didn't really want to go through but He loved/s us and he kept all the commandments that God gave him. The next thing we hear is.. "Ok I will stop smoking."

We looked at each other? What, what did he just say? Granted we were on the phone so he couldn't see, but we asked him again and he said that he wants to keep the commandments and will stop smoking!! What a miracle. He changed so quickly. Not only are the commandments a way of protection but it shows Heavenly Father whether or not we love him and want to follow him.

We had a recent convert talk with us yesterday, D____ is his name, but he was just struggling, like God wasn't answering his prayers. We talked with him for sometime and in conclusion he said that he needs to be more grateful and to be teachable. Prayer became his main focus! It is such a special opportunity to have time to talk with Heavenly Father and to share with him about our day, our struggles, our gratitude, and much more.

And lastly I love you ALL, this work is great and I am honestly sad that I will be home in less than a year. Just because the tag comes off doesn't mean we are done with this work!

Love you!

Sister Tuckett!

It sounds like she will be going outbound in a couple of weeks!  We will find out for sure next week.!  IF she calls me.. then she is!!!  She will get to call me for 5 minutes to tell me where she will be going and give me the mission home address.  When they go outbound, they only get to take one large suitcase and a carry on.   She will be gone for 3 months so she will have to pack light!

She said the Square is really quiet now.. especially in the evenings.

Just got a handful of pictures from her today..
She and Sister Ennis were covering the Beehive House.
Not much going on... ;-)

I told her I didn't recognize her outfit... she said she got it for FREE!  I asked her how and she answered...
"we have a DA DI mission di if you don't want something let the sisters get it before you give it to di"

So, now that you have read her response I was like... "What???"
Translation........
"We have a DA DI..." (Deseret Apartments Deseret Industries)  Deseret Industries in Utah is like Goodwill or a thrift store.
So,, if the sisters don't want/can't fit their clothes anymore, they see if someone wants it before they take it to DI!

We had an Elder Cook here in our ward.  I would take pictures and videos and send them to his mom.  She and her family went to Temple Square and she found Sister Tuckett and sent me a picture!!!
Thank you Katie Cook!
