Hello Everyone!

Hope things are going great! This past transfer has been so busy with serving at the Beehive House but guess what??? I am serving there again!! This morning I dropped off my trainer at the airport. She is going outbound and she will be serving in the Billings Montana Mission till Dec 10!!

So my new companion is from... you guessed it Mexico! I think this is Heavenly Fathers way of saying learn Spanish! Her name is Sister Lopez she is from the Southeast by the Gulf of Mexico.

There is a sister who came out but went home for like 3 transfers but is now back. Sister W. from Oklahoma City! So now there are 2 of us!!

The lights are going up on Temple Square! They started putting them up the end of July!! I am so excited!!

The square is slowing down so we will be getting  a lot of teaching center hours, to take chats and calls! A lot of our baptisms come from chats!

So something that I want to share is "If men come unto me I will show them their weakness.." I wasn't really listening in the beginning but He has shown me my weaknesses and he promises that they can be turned into strengths if we humble ourselves. I have seen a change in myself - mostly the last 2 weeks. God is there, He loves us.  The thing is - are we willing to listen? Are we willing to change? We are here to progress and become who HE wants us to be!!

I love you all and hope everything is just great!!!

Little bit more info.....
She moved 2 doors down with her transfer and new companion!

Still has Wednesday as her preparation day.  Her new companion just had p-day yesterday so Sister Tuckett didn't get to spend quite as much time on emailing as normal.

Her zone goal on baptisms was 15... they got 17!
She and Sister Moran had 2 of those 17!

New sisters on Temple Square from Pakistan, India and South Africa!

She didn't send me any pictures this week, but I got one off of the mission blog.... This picture is the back of the Mission President (MP) and his wife at his birthday party last week!

You have to look very closely... but you can see Sister Tuckett and Sister Moran right by the MP wife's bang area!  :-)

REMEMBER..... Her birthday is NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!
Please send her a birthday card!!!

Extra emails...

She is reading in 2 Nephi 24 and trying to finish reading the Book of Mormon by the end of November.

Next week is transfers.  They find out their changes on Tuesday and change on Wednesday.  She will be getting a new companion and maybe a different apartment.  She won't know when her P-day is until Tuesday so if her p-day is Monday or Tuesday we might not get any emails for almost 2 weeks!!!

For P-day last week:
"It was super fun we had a get to know your companion game, dinner, another guessing game and we watched Narnia!!! So good!!"

"I love my zone leaders, my zone and district leader and district!!"

As she was finishing she said... "Tell you the news later!!!"   What?????  You can't leave me hanging like that!

The McMaster's came and visited and gave them some money for dinner... "We went to the Lion House, got a meal plus dessert and then we decided to buy a pie!!! WOW amazing pie and we shared with our roomies and my district!!"

She is going to miss her companion!  Sister Moran will be going "outbound" next week!

September 3, 2014

Hello everyone!

Things are slowing down here on the Square, but teaching over the phone has been such a good blessing in helping with the work!

Since being on the mission I have really gained a love for the scriptures and the Ensign. They are tools given from God to show us the way.

Our investigator Miguel and his wife got baptized this past Saturday!! And we had an investigator lesson last week and we were invited to their baptism last Saturday! Jordan and Ashlie were their names (brother and sister ages 13 and 14)!!! We got lost but it was fun!

This week we got in contact with Carrie and Robert. They both were/are struggling right now but they are staying strong. Satan knows that this Church is true and he doesn't want us to know for ourselves. So we shared the scripture from Helaman 5:12 about having a firm foundation.

12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Since serving at the Beehive House, my district and zone have gotten very close and it is so wonderful to be serving with many Sisters and to make many eternal friends!

God loves us and He knows us - like this past week I got to see some of my family (Uncle Ray, Aunt Sarah, and Mary). I needed to see them to help me remember why I am here - to help other families realize the importance of temples so that they can receive blessings - becoming a forever family!

The Church is true! Love you all!!

Hi everyone! This week has been cold and rainy!  (She asked if she could go buy a raincoat!)

So we had exchanges on Saturday and I was with my District leader and I learned so much from her as well as the district meeting we had!

So we talked with Carrie and she has picked a date with sisters she met last week in California! September 13! So if all goes as planned we will have 4 baptisms this transfer! The Lord works in mysterious ways!

I met an older man named Ross the other day and he is a descendant from Brigham Young! I talked with him about The Beehive House and what I learned about his great...(idk how many) grandfather. It was so cool! Aubrie, so sad that you missed it! I will tell you later!

We have gotten so many referrals now that we are serving here at the Beehive House! We met a young man, Taylor, his wife is inactive but he knows a lot about the church and was so prepared! We gave him a Book of Mormon - he is GOLDEN!

I love you all and I hope you are all serving the Lord in your own ways!

************
Sister Tuckett gave me a short list of ideas for her birthday that is coming up!

She said to make sure everyone is wearing their seatbelts!!! (After the sad news of a sister here in Oklahoma losing her life in a car accident.)  She said she wants everyone here when she gets home!

***Just a reminder***  She LOVES to get handwritten letters in the mail so she can read them through the week.  She only has 2 hours or less on the computer and she can't print things off to take with her.

Sister Tuckett's cousin,,, Merissa,,, found her on Temple Square!

I received a text on Saturday,,, I didn't know the phone number. All it said was "Look who we found!"  I eventually received the picture and a note saying "She is darling!"   What a great surprise!!!  My girls here think it is kind of weird that strangers are going up and asking to take a picture of Abby!  They don't understand that mom's live for pictures of their missionaries!!!!  I thought it was great that this mom took a picture of my missionary and then sent it to me!  She has a son serving in California on a mission so she knows what I am going through!
(I found out from Sister Tuckett that this sister is her district leader and she served her "outbound" in the same mission/district as this couple's son in California!)

Sisters on Temple Square!
New friends from all over the world!

August 20, 2014         Lots of pictures this week!!!!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well!

I love serving at the Beehive House! Things are passing by so fast and learning lots!

I have been sick, the cold and flu have been spreading like wildfire here in the mission and it is not even winter time. I have gotten a lot of rest and just taking it easy the last couple of days. I used to love to stay at home when I wasn't feeling well, but now I cannot stand it. I want to be out and about!

A couple of the sisters have gone home early because of previous injuries, so sad, as well as major illness.

The work is moving forward and I make new friends everyday! We are a really close mission and very hardworking!

We have 3 men that come to the square everyday! Jon, John, and Bob! Bob has been a member for some time and Jon, he was baptized earlier this year and the gospel has helped him gain a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and Eternal Families. His daughter passed away at the age of 33. And John (he is homeless) he is recently attending church again and taking the discussions. John went through a rough time and is now trying to change his life!

It is wonderful to see how lives can change through the Atonement of Jesus Christ!

The mission, everything as a whole is going great! I love it! So happy I had great examples throughout my life and helping me decide to serve!

Thank you all!

Hello everyone!! It has been a crazy week!

Today I will just give you a summary of the past week!

We have gotten lots of referrals!! Yay! And lots of tours in the Beehive House!

Our shifts are 3 hours twice a day almost 4 days a week! And one nice thing about serving there is that we get a free Lion House roll like every time we walk in! So yummy!

I love my new district! We get a long so well and we love to tease one another. I've heard that those who serve in the Beehive become super close with their district and zone!

We are teaching a lot people! And there are lots who have baptismal dates! We are actually going to a baptism this Saturday! Her name is Annery, we gave her and her family a tour about one month ago.

This morning we were able to go to the SLC temple! It was great to have a short time to be in the Lord's House. Temples are a blessing! Today before emails we gave a tour to a family who spoke Spanish and you could tell they felt the spirit!

I still have a lot to learn but it is a fun spiritual journey!

I love you all!

Sister Tuckett

*******************************

No new pictures this week.... :-(

Extra Bits and pieces….

She spends 19 hours a week at the Beehive House, the rest of her working hours are spent on Temple Square.  She said there is no “down time” until she goes home in the evening and then she has to cook meals for the next day, shower and get to bed.   On her p-day she is on Temple Square in the mornings until 1:00, then has the rest of the day to do laundry, shopping, writing letters, cooking.

I asked how she liked the Beehive House… her reply:

“I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I can just stay there forever!!”

"I bought some new shoes that are so nice and comfy and my knees and back have stopped hurting.”

Sister Tuckett has me print off all of her e-mails/letters out of her e-mail... Look what I happened to find!!!!  Pictures!
