The letter I received in the mail this week:

Mom,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU!  If it wasn't for you and dad I wouldn't be here.  I wouldn't be where I am at today!  I know that this experience has and will change the rest of my life.  Thank you for loving me, for raising me in the gospel, for encouraging me, for helping me see my worth and MORE!  God is ALWAYS aware of us! He knows the desires of our hearts.  Eight weeks will go by fast and then I get to come home and apply ALL the things that I have learned.  I know that I am awful at writing but I will share EVERYTHING when I get home!
Love,
Sister Tuckett  xoxo

I guess she is serious about not emailing me a letter!  She is going to write me a letter today and send it. So,, I guess you will (hopefully) get to hear it next week! But,, she sent me some pictures that you can look at!  I also got a picture from my cousin and some info off of the mission blog.

My cousin and his family went to Temple Square and found Sister Tuckett!

Thank you Janie, Blaine and Tyler!

From the Mission Blog:
“While Sister Wu (Hong Kong) played sacred hymns on the piano everyone sat reverently waiting for  Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland to join us in our Relief Society this morning.  Everyone arose from bed earlier so we could be in our seats in Theater 1 at SVC, at 6:45am.

Elder Holland extended his love to us by having each one of us file past him so he could shake our hand as we told him our name and where we were from.  He later told us that he didn’t do that so he could learn our name or try to remember where we were from, but it was a quick interview to look into our eyes and feel of our spirit.  As we each filed past him Sister Wu continued her quiet playing that added to the spirit of the meeting. Elder Holland thanked us for our service and went on to teach us about the Book of Mormon and why it is the keystone of our religion. It was wonderful to learn from the teachings of an apostle.”

Sister Tuckett said:  "He talked about the Book of Mormon! it was so good! "The Book of Mormon is Revelation about Revelation!" And that Salvation cannot come without Revelation."

Mission Blog:

Oct. 24th

Temple Sq. Sisters had eight weeks to prepare for the 5K challenge. The challenge was accepted with excitement and a desire to become more fit, healthy and energetic so that we can be more effective missionaries on Temple Square! President Harmon “Socked it to us” by providing everyone with their first pair of running socks so as to avoid those nasty blisters we all hate. Our theme became:
"FIT FOR THE KINGDOM".
We could choose our pace; to run, walk/jog, or just walk.  Our route was around the Utah Capitol building, down Gravity Hill and through the Canyon. Very scenic!!  It all ended with a great breakfast bash at Brigham Young Park.

She has a silly face in the background and I asked her about it.
She said she was drinking water and was mid swallow!
The rest are pictures she sent me.

Announcing on Sunday morning after "Music and the Spoken Word".

The one and only picture for this week and that is giving thanks to the Curbello Family!!!
They took a family trip to Utah and went to Temple Square and found Sister Tuckett!

She spends a lot of her time emailing the mission president now so she actually mailed me a letter this week!

Here is most of the letter:

We met lots of wonderful people on the square at conference time.  The weekend went by so quickly.  I wish it was 4 days instead of 2.

I think I told you before, but working with less actives is what really makes me happy.  They know, they have already made those covenants with God.  Some say "it doesn't work for me... but as President Uchtdorf said... "it works, it works wonderfully."  Keep life sweet and simple.  We keep things that are un-needed, unimportant, and it keeps us from becoming who God wants us to be.

I only have 2 months left but I feel far from being prepared.  I met Elder Snow from the 70 yesterday and he said "Sister T they only send the best to Temple Square."  No pressure or anything. Lol! I guess that is what the Atonement is for, to change and become better!  I am not saying I am a bad missionary but I could always do better.

We met some great people!  I love being in the teaching center calling and chatting with people and Sister C. loves the Square.  I love it too, but I talk more in the teaching center.  I got out of my comfort zone, but I still am shy and don't talk too much.  I like teaching and testifying and encouraging and Sis. C. likes asking questions.  We all have different skills and talents!  Humility and faith is what I want to focus on these last 2 months.  The Atonement is so wonderful, that EVERYDAY IS A NEW ONE!  I love the mission!  It is a blessing!

Love you so much!
Love,
Baby Bear  (AKA Sister Tuckett) xoxo

She said she spends about 20 hours a week in the teaching center and some desk assignments and then the rest of the time is on the Square.  Has lots of paperwork that she has to do as zone leader.

Thanks again to the Curbello's for the picture of our happy girl!  She really isn't ready to come home yet!  She loves her mission!

No blog letter this week.. she bought a new journal today and said when she gets home I can read all about her mission!

But in the meantime she answered a few questions for me!

Asked her about seeing her Ker family this week:
"Yes it was so nice to see them! I had no idea that I would see them! It had been awhile since I had last seen them! It was sad that I didn't get to spend more time!"  :(

Do you have any investigators you are working with?
"Yes we just got 5 new investigators yesterday! We got 3 from the square and 2 more through chat! And one them is from the Tulsa area but just moved to California. Yesterday was so great!!"

"I work in West Gate just 3 shifts a week not much ~ so 12 hours. I love it! It can be stressful when people and phones need your attention and you have 2 arms and brain that don't multi-task! lol"

She sent me some pictures.. with a little bit of explanation.

She said "this cute couple comes to Temple Square every week."

 Her first VIP tour!
A couple lawyers from Brazil.

She said this couple ran across Temple Square
just to get a picture with the girls!

A "famous journalist" from Lebanon.
He has moved to the U.S. and is one of their investigators.
("You can tell he likes to take pictures!")

Investigator from India.

Needed some privacy for their prayer with an investigator on the phone!

The missionary from "Meet the Mormons" movie!

A beautiful view of the Salt Lake Temple!

Surprise!!!
Sister Tuckett's Utah Ker cousins surprised her on Sunday!
Along with Uncle Ron, Aunt Sharee, and Aunt Candy!

Sister Campelo and Sister Tuckett
Sister Tuckett and Sister Campelo made it on the Mormon Newsroom page!
Too bad Sister T. had turned her head.
 On facebook....

Aunt Candy and Uncle Gerry went back to see her to pick up a box of stuff she is sending home.
Because she is coming home in 9 WEEKS!!!!!

Here is the trailer for the movie "Meet the Mormons".

It is a great video to show different people in the Mormon Church and how they have been blessed and how they have blessed others by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So I had a full week with my new companion! She is a great missionary! She is helping me with all that I need to know as a new Zone Leader! We are also having fun a long the way! It seems that we have been best friends for a long time!

Conference was a blast!! We were tired and our feet hurt but it was so worth it! We talked with so many people and to hear their testimonies were so inspiring. They shared with us what they learned and how they are going to change certain things and how they have a deeper desire to share the gospel with their family and friends!

As we walked around the Square we could hear some of Conference. I loved President Uchtdorf's talk on "IT WORKS!" The gospel works for ALL of us not just some of us. The hard part is knowing how it works for each and everyone of us! We are all different, it is a process, it is a life long pursuit in finding how it works for us personally! I thought that by the end of my mission I would know how to apply everything perfectly, that I would know everything! But that is far from the truth! A mission is a resource, it is a training center to help us apply and live the gospel for the rest of forever! I am grateful for the knowledge that I have and IT WORKS! Remember that!

I love you ALL!

I hope that you enjoyed Conference, I know I did!

Called to Serve

"You will have like maybe 2 more blog letters before I come home. I have to email lots of things to president and spend most of my time doing that. I will do better at writing home to give you more information!

We talk with the District Leaders and help them with their sisters.  We do lots of paper work, exchanges with the district leaders and trainings, meetings, encouraging and more. Sister Campelo is great though! Love her. She is teaching me so much!"

She talked to a lady in the missionary travel department today!  She said I will be getting her flight itinerary soon!!!!
