Hello!
So this past week we had Zone Conference! It was amazing! Sister Cannon (Mission Pres Wife) talked about the Atonement! President Cannon talked about helping those we teach make and keep their commitments! And later we performed a skit about Moses and the people having faith as they crossed the Red Sea. It was pretty fun. We did our best to make it spiritual and funny!
So Billie, we taught her about being obedient and the power of prayer and how we can receive answers to our prayers by reading the scriptures! She is crazy shy! She is best friends with bishop's wife and she looks at her to answer questions, but this week she has opened up and will talk! She is continuing to pray for a new baptismal date!!
So I have always loved meeting with the members! But this past week has helped me realize that I NEED them! They are just great people and I love hearing their stories!
So this will be my last week of my first transfer here in the Idaho Nampa Mission! We will see what happens for this upcoming one!! It sure has been an experience here! Learning a lot! Hope you are all doing well!
Love you tons!!

Hello!
So it seems like this past week just flew by!
So we began the week with Billie! She is investigating the church. She had decided to get baptized March 4 but she said that she wants to push her date back. We had a feeling that that would happen due to one of our previous conversations. She is having a hard time believing that Heavenly Father loves her because of her past. She wants to be happy but doesn't seem to know how to apply the Atonement. So we taught her more about baptism and how the Atonement can help her forgive and forget what has happened.
Again we went back and did service and cleaned stalls for a lady in South Slope Relief Society. :-) It was fun! We had to run and corner one of the goats so that we could put a collar on him. He wasn't too happy about that! The poor thing hurt his ankle during the chase!
We have been getting to know the families in both wards and a lot of the young women are also wanting to serve missions so we have invited them to go with us to lessons and such! They can experience some of what goes on in the work! It is great to see these young girls and their testimony of our Savior and how they want to share it with others!
On Thursday we went on Exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders! It was so good! I went to New Plymouth which is about 20 minutes west of Emmett! The exchange was short due to a busy week but I learned so much in 9 hours!! I was with Sister Clegg. She is from Provo Utah! She has only 6 weeks left and she reminds me of the Princess from Brave!! What I learned this week was not only from my personal study and prayer but from her - is to love ourselves and not to be so hard on ourselves. The mission can be hard and Satan has his own work too. We taught a lot of people and the town has only 1,000 people in it a lot less them Emmett! So FUN!!!
Friday we had district meeting and we talked about asking inspired questions to help our investigators teach themselves, to answer their own questions! We also talked about how important it is to know what we teach. We are to become converted before we can help others in their own conversion.
After DM (district meeting) we did service! We went to another Sister's area and we picked up branches and pecans! Then we went to Lee C.'s house and washed her dishes and cleaned the house. She is having back surgery in the next week, so she wants to have things in order for a little bit.
This has been such a good week! My Faith has grown, my desire to serve has increased and my love for others!!
Learning to love change has become apart of me!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
She said she thinks they will all be getting I-pads on Temple Square... We will have to pay $400-450 for it and then it is hers to bring home.

Hello!

So this week was a little rough due to the fact that all but one of our scheduled appointments canceled. So we went and did service and visited with some of the members!!!
Yesterday we had ward conference for both South Slope and East Valley Wards. It was a long day!!! From 8:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon!! The theme was D&C 4 "Embark in the Service of God". Bishop Walker talked about being converted as we embark and in Relief Society the focus was on Charity ~ learning to love and cherish those around us!!
We were also asked to talk in Meadow View which is an assisted living center. There were about 20 of us all together.. pretty good I say! Sister Duncan went first and she talked about having Faith and I talked about Love/Charity since Valentine's Day is soon to be here! They seemed to really enjoy it!!
So SMALL WORLD!!!!!!!!!! There is an older couple ~ the Smiths, they were my very first dinner appointment here in Emmett and by the end of the night I found out that her granddaughter Haley, just got off her mission and she showed me a picture... we hung out like almost every night my first semester at college and now she is coming to visit! And there is another family, the mom is the aunt of a sister missionary who served on Temple Square... Sister Park - she just went home in December. So crazy!!!
I love you all!!! Have a wonderful week!
Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hello From Emmett!
This small town reminds me of Oklahoma! Tons of open land and is pretty! So we are working with 2 wards! The East Valley Ward and The South Slope Ward! We are at Church from 8:30 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon! I thought that it would be hard but it flies by. I do love working with both wards. They are so excited to do missionary work and they want to help in any way possible. Starting this Saturday, we are having a Pancake Breakfast for every 1st Saturday of the month to help the ward bring friends and family to allow more missionary activities. This is in the South Slope ward!
We live in the South Slope boundaries with a member her name is Sister P! She is a super sweet lady! Her husband lives in the Assisted Living which she visits every day! We pretty much live smack dab in the middle of Emmett which is pretty nice to see the old buildings.
The weather has been really nice.. not too cold. There are times when we don't wear our coats. Last night and this morning it has been raining! LOVE IT!!
So my companion is Sister Duncan and she is from Alaska. She is almost done with her mission! She is sad and kinda freaking out that she doesn't know what to do after her mission... not looking forward to that day.
So I honestly cannot remember which day, but we were having a hard time finding people.. no one would answer the door or if they did they would just say have a nice day.. lol! I said and little prayer - we were finishing up before lunch and knocked on this last door. Lauren was her name and she said "Hi, Sisters. Come on in.." What ~ no way! We visited for a bit and she was a less active member and so was her mother but the husband and kids weren't. They were super sweet and explained that they stopped going to church because there were some things that they didn't agree with. Anyway, they are moving and said that they would love some help... so that could be a blessing to help them!!
One day we were tracting and walking up to this house and we heard a gun shot and the cat ran out of the house.. so we decided to not bother! lol!!!
We also did a District service project! It was so fun! So in our ward we have a lady ~ Mary, she has been investigating the church for over a year now. She was going to be baptized at one point but has started smoking again. She just got out of rehab and still wants to continue towards baptism. She loves the church! Anyway, we raked her yard! There were 10 missionaries and we spent two and a half hours but still didn't finish.
There is a lot of work here to do! The members are a big help and they enjoy fellowshipping!
I love you ALL!!

She enjoys being able to eat with members! She had only been able to do that twice while serving on Temple Square.
She gave me a list of things she would like me to send her because there is no Walmart in her town. Only an Albertson's! $$$$$
In another email she wanted to make sure I let you know that she loves and misses you all!!!
Let me know if you would like her address!
