So hello everyone! It has been some time since I last responded!
I am doing well! I have learned so much this past transfer from the Sisters that I had the opportunity to serve! It has gone by way too fast! The mission has come and gone. I could seriously stay for another 6 months and be totally fine!
Something that I have learned these past 18 months is that I will not know or learn everything that I expected to while I am here. The things I have learned will help me in the future. The things you learn on a mission seriously is a foundation, I am a better person because of this decision I made to serve the Lord and his children. I wouldn't change it for anything!!
It has been an interesting past week! Last night after planning the fire alarm went off in the apartment complex... I opened the front door to see sisters running by and screaming! Haha "Oh sisters I think we should probably go outside." They thought I was joking but no! So we grabbed our jackets and purses and ran out the door. Long story short some sisters were trying to bake some bread in the microwave! Lol the fire department laughed so hard but nothing caught fire it was just the heavy smoke! It was an eventful evening!
I will miss the work. I know that I will be able to continue it when I get home but it just won't be 24/7. I will have to make some changes and adjust to the new journey ahead!
I love you all, have a wonderful week!
Called to Serve
Sister Tuckett!
***Here is a letter that she sent last week!***
So, I am stressed! I found a gray hair!! No, it is/was not one I already had. :|
So, I met a girl named Rachel in the North Visitor's Center. She is less active but wants to come back to church. I shared Alma 36:3
with her and she started crying and said that she would go back to church, pray and read her scriptures ~ CPR!
Alma 36:3 And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their a in God shall be supported in their b, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be c at the last day.
And Jade is 16. She isn't sure she believes in God so we suggested that she prays to know. She has been praying for 4 weeks now and still hasn't received (or recognized) an answer. She said that she will try to continue. :/ And Elder Holland,,, that was honestly all he had time to talk about the Book of Mormon. Read 1 Nephi 1 (see below) and see how it relates to Joseph Smith.
Outline:
Prophet→Prays→Vision→Savior (sees)→Book (records)→Fate of the world→Anger→Kills the Prophets (tries/does)→This happens to all the prophets.
The Book of Mormon truly is a book of revelation!
I love you! I hope you have a great week!
Love,
Sister Tuckett ♥
She said the WHOLE mission was in one endowment session at the temple! She loved it!
I received these 3 pictures today!
From the Mission Blog
"Oct. 31st—It’s Halloween and Temple Square closed at 5pm. For dinner, Temple Square Mission went to the COB (Church Office Building) and used the cafeteria area to enjoy lasagna and a salad from Olive Garden. Sister Poulsen also passed out candy to all the Sisters. After dinner we walked over to the Salt Lake Temple for the 7pm Session. It was wonderful to see everyone in white inside the temple all together. Many temple hugs were exchanged in the Celestial Room as well as loving conversation. It was a wonderful evening!"
I found Sister Tuckett in all 3 of these pictures!
(A mother can spot her children!)
2 of them are of her back but the last one you can see a side view.
This one she is on the very top right side with her back to us.
This one is the side view...
look on the left side, she is standing and has a tanish sweater on,
looks like she was just standing up with the picture was taken.
1 Nephi 1
1 I, Nephi, having been
a of
b c, therefore I was
d somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many
e in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a
f of my proceedings in my days.
2 Yea, I make a record in the
a of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians.
3 And I know that the record which I make is
a; and I make it with mine own hand; and I make it according to my knowledge.
4 For it came to pass in the commencement of the
a year of the reign of
b, king of Judah, (my father, Lehi, having dwelt at
c in all his days); and in that same year there came many
d, prophesying unto the people that they must
e, or the great city
f must be destroyed.
5 Wherefore it came to pass that my father, Lehi, as he went forth prayed unto the Lord, yea, even with all his
a, in behalf of his people.
6 And it came to pass as he prayed unto the Lord, there came a
a of fire and dwelt upon a rock before him; and he saw and heard much; and because of the things which he saw and heard he did
b and tremble exceedingly.
7 And it came to pass that he returned to his own house at Jerusalem; and he cast himself upon his bed, being
a with the Spirit and the things which he had seen.
8 And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a
a, even that he saw the
b open, and he thought he
c God sitting upon his throne, surrounded with numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising their God.
9 And it came to pass that he saw One descending out of the midst of heaven, and he beheld that his
a was above that of the sun at noon-day.
10 And he also saw
a others following him, and their brightness did exceed that of the stars in the firmament.
11 And they came down and went forth upon the face of the earth; and the first came and
a before my father, and gave unto him a
b, and bade him that he should read.
12 And it came to pass that as he read, he was filled with the
a of the Lord.
13 And he read, saying: Wo, wo, unto Jerusalem, for I have seen thine
a! Yea, and many things did my father read concerning
b—that it should be destroyed, and the inhabitants thereof; many should perish by the sword, and many should be
c captive into Babylon.
14 And it came to pass that when my father had read and seen many great and marvelous things, he did exclaim many things unto the Lord; such as: Great and marvelous are thy works, O Lord God Almighty! Thy throne is high in the heavens, and thy
a, and goodness, and mercy are over all the inhabitants of the earth; and, because thou art merciful, thou wilt not suffer those who
b unto thee that they shall perish!
15 And after this manner was the language of my father in the praising of his God; for his soul did rejoice, and his whole heart was filled, because of the things which he had seen, yea, which the Lord had shown unto him.
16 And now I, Nephi, do not make a full account of the things which my father hath written, for he hath written many things which he saw in
a and in
b; and he also hath written many things which he
c and spake unto his children, of which I shall not make a full account.
17 But I shall make an account of my proceedings in my days. Behold, I make an
a of the record of my
b, upon
c which I have made with mine own hands; wherefore, after I have abridged the record of my
d then will I make an account of mine own life.
18 Therefore, I would that ye should know, that after the Lord had shown so many marvelous things unto my father, Lehi, yea, concerning the
a of Jerusalem, behold he went forth among the people, and began to
b and to declare unto them concerning the things which he had both seen and heard.
19 And it came to pass that the
a did
b him because of the things which he testified of them; for he truly testified of their
c and their abominations; and he testified that the things which he saw and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, manifested plainly of the coming of a
d, and also the redemption of the world.
20 And when the Jews heard these things they were angry with him; yea, even as with the prophets of old, whom they had
a, and stoned, and slain; and they also
b his life, that they might take it away. But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender
c of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of
d.
